From the Halifax 1988 Survey
The 1988 House Names Survey by the Halifax Building Society was the first and at the time the largest survey of house names ever carried out in the UK. On a routine overnight computer search they identified around 1.2 million investors and nearly 134,000 borrowers who had named houses, representing 8% of investors and 7% of borrowers.
